Following a career of more than 20 years in public accounting and private practice of law, Thomas E. Kirkland founded TEKMAK Development with the vision of being a relationship company that is valued and principle based focused on developing hospitality projects with premier hotel companies in unique and distinctive venues. To date, TEKMAK hotels are located on historic sites in Granbury, Bryan, Houston, and the Fort Worth Stockyards and recreation locales on the Guadalupe River, Lake Granbury, Lake Ray Hubbard and in College Station. TEKMAK’s affiliations include such world renowned companies as Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Best Western.

Tom graduated from Texas A&M University in 1976 with a degree in accounting, received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1980, and his CPA certification from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in 1983.
